Food For Thought: November 2010

YOU KNOW YOU LOVE JIU-JITSU WHEN:

  • When nobody is around you start doing submissions on your pillow.
  • You are constantly staring at peoples ears to see who is a grappler.
  • You catch yourself attempting to pass your spouses guard.
  • Only when you are explaining a move to a friend do you develop a slight Brazilian accent.
  • You start calling people you meet ”my friend, my friend.”
  • Your friends start to complain that it is all you talk about.
  • Your little brother runs away from you every time you arrive home after your Jiu-Jitsu class.
  • You begin pronouncing the word Jiu-Jitsu as Zhoo-Zhitsu.
  • You find it fun putting house pets into locks and chokes.
  • When somebody tries to give you a hug you immediately drop down and go to a hip throw.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Training Can Be Fun:

How do you usually feel when you train? Do you have fun? If not, that means you are taking the training too seriously. Training is supposed to be fun and it can be if you want to.Once you start to see the training like a game you are playing with your partner, you will feel more relaxed, the training will flow and definitely become more fun.

So next time you are training remember, play and have a good time.
